It is the year 26 BC. The Romans are attempting to subdue the indomitable Cantabrians and Asturians in the inaccessible regions of the north of the Iberian Peninsula. While the fortified city of Bergida is engulfed in flames, Sekeios, an Autrigonian mercenary in the service of Rome, flees the camp after a serious incident with the governor of the province of Tarraconensis. Wandering through hostile territory, he is captured by Konkan warriors who take him to the city of Aracillum, a stronghold of the Cantabrian resistance. The governor has sworn to bring him down. Sekeios is left alone with no way back. So he must kneel before the feared leader Corocotta. To survive, he must fight first against the hatred of the mountain dwellers and then against the relentless offensive of the Roman legions to conquer the Iberian Peninsula. And between battles and wolf hunts, he discovers love with Turennia... A constant struggle and an uncertain fate.
